A fundamental part of the design process is working as a team. I work closely with design team members to develop and present design strategies during in-house charrettes and informal work sessions. Effective communication ensures that the design intent is conveyed efficiently and accurately by the team. Sharing design options, listening to alternatives and incorporating shared expertise occurs continuously through all phases of design.

Involving clients at critical points in the design process allows the designer to efficiently develop the most appropriate solution that meets their needs and expectations. I engage clients throughout the process to incorporate their vision into the design product. Understanding the client's perspective informs the design process and ultimately enhances the client-architect working relationship.

The goal of a design project is not only a beautiful presentation graphic, it is the actual completion of a structure that everyone can experience and appreciate as a unique contribution to the built environment. My experience has given me the opportunity to work with key stakeholders, to satisfy clients, donors and the community through a unique and engaging building that exists in unity within its context.
